Family of Helicopter Crash Victim Appeals for Recovery of Missing Body

His son, Ledum Light, said the family was notified of the incident by his employer

The family of Boris Ledum Ndorbu, one of the victims of last Thursday’s helicopter crash, is appealing for the recovery of his body for a proper burial.

Mr. Ndorbu was among the crew on the Sikorsky SK76 helicopter, operated by East Wind Aviation, en route to work for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) when the crash occurred.

His son, Ledum Light, said the family was notified of the incident by his employer. “I spoke to my father that morning, and there were no signs of danger. By 3 p.m., we received the call about the crash. It was devastating,” he said.

Despite ongoing efforts, Mr. Ndorbu’s body has not been found. “Only three bodies have been recovered so far, and my father’s is not among them,” Mr. Light added, calling for more advanced recovery measures to be deployed.

The family is urging authorities to intensify search efforts, hoping to bring Mr. Ndorbu home for a final farewell.
