Jubilation in Ebonyi as Gov Nwifuru approves N75,000 minimum wage

During a Sunday Holy Mass at Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Governor Francis Nwifuru approved a 75, 000 Naira minimum wage for civil servants, causing joy.

According to Governor Nwifuru, his decision was made after a thorough review of the country’s current economic situation, particularly its impact on the workforce.

He went on to say that the lowest-paid Civil Servant at grade level 2 will receive the full minimum wage of $75,000, while those at grade levels 3 and up will receive an additional 40,000 across the board.

The Governor announced that implementation of the new minimum wage would commence on Monday, 28th October, 2024.

Governor Nwifuru also announced the appointment of General Managers to pilot affairs of two major Industries in the State.

The appointees include Dr. Obinna Ezenkwa, Umuoghara Pulverization Plant and Barrister Uchenna Otuh, Ezzamgbo Pipe Production Factory.

The Governor said the appointments were made bearing in mind the expertise of the appointees which are needful to drive the Industries.

He urged them to endeavor to bring their expertise to bear in the service to the State.

Governor Nwifuru called on Stakeholders of the State to support the new General Managers to prosper the State through the Industries.
