Libyan authorities have arrested 18 undocumented migrants, including eight Nigerians and nine Nigeriens, along with one child, in a raid conducted by the Police Intervention and Control Force.
The operation took place in Ghanima following reports of undocumented nationals in the area, according to Migrant Rescue Watch.
In a statement posted on X, the organisation said the individuals had been transferred to the Ghanima Police Department for processing.
“Police Intervention and Control Force… apprehended 17 undocumented migrants, including eight men, nine women, and one child, of Nigerien and Nigerian nationalities,” the statement said. “All have been transferred to the Ghanima Police Department, pending referral to the Illegal Immigration Prosecution in Al-Khums.”
