Governor Bala reiterates commitment to peace, development in Bauchi

Long-term peace and development in the state and the North East


Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has reiterated the administration’s commitment to continue supporting and collaborating with security agencies to ensure long-term peace and development in the state and the North East as a whole.

The Governor spoke on Tuesday and introduced Idowu Owohunwa, the newly appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12.

Bala Mohammed used the forum to thank the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies operating in the state for their commitment and support, assuring them that, as a responsible government, his administration will continue to work with them on those directives.

He also said that with his verse knowledge and experience in the Nigerian Police and security generally, he will partner with him in ensuring that the pockets of security challenges in the zone are nipped in the bud for sustainable growth and development.

According to him, “Be rest assured that whatever support you need, I will provide to enable you to maintain peace and security in Bauchi State and the zone.”

He said that despite the State’s vintage position as the gateway to the North East subregion coupled with the security challenges facing the Zone, Bauchi State remains peaceful due to persistent efforts and support from the Police and other security agencies operating in the State and the Zone generally.

Earlier, the newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 12, Idowu Owohunwa told the Governor that he was at the Government House to formally introduce himself and to solicit his support in the discharge of his responsibility.

He commented Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his continuous support to the Nigerian Police and other security agencies operating in the state pledging to support such gesture.

The AIG said that he will not let the nation and his calling down as he remains committed towards sustaining the peace and addressing security ch facing the Zone 12 of the NPF.
