‘Devastating loss’— Abdulrazaq mourns ex-Kwara deputy speaker Christopher Ayeni

He died in a fatal crash.

  • He was said to have been driving a Hilux vehicle with an unidentified passenger when the tragic incident happened.

Christopher Tunji Ayeni, also known as CT Ayeni, a former deputy speaker of the Kwara state house of assembly, tragically passed away in a road accident.

The accident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday near Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State while Ayeni was traveling to Ilorin.

Ayeni, who was the 2023 House of Representatives candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and recently decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), was a prominent figure in Kwara politics.

He held the traditional title of Akogun of Isapa Land in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.

Corroborating the report, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Kwara governor, expressed his condolences to the family, friends, and associates of Ayeni.

The governor’s condolence message was contained in a statement issued by Rafiu Ajakaye, his chief press secretary.

Abdulrazaq described the development as devastating, also commiserated with the people of Isapa in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state on the incident.

The governor prayed to Almighty God to rest the soul of the former lawmaker and give his loved ones the strength to bear the huge loss.
