A man, identified as Muftau Adefalu, has been arrested after allegedly killing his ex-wife, Yetunde Olayiwole, in Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
Ogun State Police confirmed the arrest and said the incident occurred around 8 pm on Friday, 1 November 2024.
According to police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the 37-year-old suspect and Olayiwole were involved in a dispute that escalated into a physical altercation.
“The man had a misunderstanding with his ex-wife, which led to a fight. She collapsed during the scuffle and was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead,” Odutola said. The body has been transferred to the Ifo General Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
This incident follows another recent case in Ibadan, Oyo State, where 39-year-old Olusegun Tinubu was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife, Comfort Tinubu. Police are investigating both cases.
