The 2023 Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said he likes to have women in position of power.

He stated that the reason he prefers women in public offices is because they are less likely to engage in sharp and shady practices when in public offices than men.

Obi noted that gender has a role to play in how corruption-free a society is, adding that women are family-oriented and are more determined to see society progress.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, the former Anambra State governor explained that because, Obi stated that women are not as corrupt as men.

He said when he was governor, he appointed women in strategic positions.

“Women are less corrupt. They are not as corrupt as men. And because they have families, they are more determined to see things work.

“When I was governor, my Chief of Staff and commissioners for Education and Planning were all women,” Obi said.
