Northern Senators have praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ordering the release of minors who were detained during recent #EndBadGovernance protests in Nigeria.

In a statement on Monday, Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, described President Tinubu’s directive as a demonstration of his commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of Nigerian youths.

The senators also urged Northern leaders to prioritize the safety and education of children in the region and to create an environment that fosters their growth and shields them from harm and exploitation.

The statement reads, “On behalf of the Northern Senators Forum, I wish to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his prompt action in ordering the release of minors arrested and detained during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

“By directing the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, to expedite the release process, the president has shown exemplary leadership in addressing this important issue.

“I also wish to acknowledge the efforts of leaders in the North who have tirelessly worked to secure the release of these minors. Their dedication and advocacy have brought attention to this matter, and we are grateful for their commitment to the welfare of our young people.

“Let us work together to ensure that our youth receive the support and resources they need to become active contributors to Nigeria’s growth and development.”
