A devastating flood has wreaked havoc in Rivers State submerging about 103 communities in Ahoada West Local Government Area of the State.
The flood was reportedly caused by heavy rainfall and a massive overflow of the Orashi River.
It was gathered that in Akinima, headquarters of the LGA, many homes and farms have almost been completely submerged by the severe flood.
Some of the affected communities include Mbiama, Akinima, Engenni, and Enedua, among others.
The Chief Press Secretary of Ahoada West LGA, Esedi Joe, said the council was overwhelmed, adding that it is seeking assistance from the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and international agencies
