Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate, Senator Rufai Hanga (NNPP, Kano Central), has emphasized that disloyalty is a primary cause of crises within Nigerian political parties.
Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday after receiving a Legislative Leadership Impact Award from NASSnews, Hanga urged politicians to embrace a culture of loyalty.
“Lack of party loyalty among members breeds crises within parties, and by extension, in the polity,” he remarked, adding that loyalty should be treated as a priority within party structures to ensure stability.
Reflecting on his extensive career, Hanga stated, “My loyalty to party membership and leadership since 1978 has been my greatest asset. As long as I choose to belong to a party, I believe in remaining loyal and setting a positive example for future generations.”
