Dr Alex Ogbonnia, spokesperson for the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has announced the death of his mother, Deaconess Esther Ogbonnia, at the age of 88.
In a statement on Saturday, Ogbonnia said his mother passed away on November 2, 2024, at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu State. He described her as deeply faithful and said the family would release details of her funeral arrangements later.
“Deaconess Esther Oligwe Ogbonnia (Nee Uzoagbala) has joined the Saints Triumphant at 88. Her transition occurred at the UNTH, Enugu on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024,” the statement read.
Efforts to reach Ogbonnia for further details were unsuccessful as his phone was unreachable at the time of reporting.
