Terrorists attack Southern Kaduna community, kill 5

Unknown gunmen suspected to be terrorists wreaking havoc across Nigeria’s middle belt region have killed at least five persons in southern Kaduna.

Many others were also injured in the attack that happened at Pasakori community in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Engr. Joseph Ciroma, confirmed the tragic incident.

Ciroma decried the attack, describing it as an heinous acts, adding that the assailants have no place in a civilized society.

In a statement he personally issued, Chiroma expressed shock over the loss of lives and injuries inflicted on the people of the community by gunmen.

He believed that their sole intention was to undermine the progress made by the people of Jema’a LGA, Southern Kaduna, and Kaduna State in rebuilding trust, fostering understanding, and revitalizing conflict-affected communities.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and prayed for speedy recovery to those injured.

Ciroma called on the government to ensure that efforts were put in place to apprehend the perpetrators of the evil act in order to face the law of the land.

According to Daily Post, following the attack on the community, security personnel have taken over the area to ensure the return of peace.

In 2015, the same community was attacked by unknown gunmen leading to the loss of lives, many others injured and burning of houses, as well as foodstuffs.

The state spokesman of the Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan did not respond to calls to react to the incident
