President Bola Tinubu is fully aware of the economic challenges currently facing Nigeria but assures the nation that the country is on the right track.

This message was conveyed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, during a birthday service for Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, who turned 70.

Representing Tinubu at the event held in Lagos on Monday, Akume acknowledged the difficulties Nigerians are experiencing, particularly due to recent reforms, but urged citizens to remain hopeful.

“The President acknowledges that times are hard, but at the end of the tunnel, there is always light,” Akume said. He added, “Solutions to complex problems can never be as instant as coffee, but we are on the right track.”

Tinubu’s administration has implemented significant reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira, which, while necessary to revive the economy, have contributed to the current economic hardship.

At the event, Tinubu, through the SGF, paid tribute to Pastor Bakare, describing him as a man of integrity and a beacon of hope. “Pastor Bakare has been a voice for the voiceless, a spiritual leader, and an advocate for truth. His decades of service and dedication to honesty and fairness have earned him respect across the nation.”

The ceremony, held at The Citadel in Oregun, Lagos, was attended by prominent figures including the governors of Lagos and Ogun states, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, among others. They praised Bakare’s spiritual leadership and his role in Nigeria’s political landscape over the years.
