According to the Force Headquarters, these deployments aim to guarantee a credible electoral process during the Ondo off-season gubernatorial election on November 16, 2024.

The statement emphasized several key security measures, including restrictions on movement and security escorts.

To prevent disruptions, security aides and escorts assigned to VIPs are barred from accompanying them to polling booths and collation centers.

Additionally, unauthorized security personnel and vehicles with sirens are prohibited from operating during the election.

The Nigeria Police Force has also implemented special accessibility provisions, ensuring that polling stations are accessible to individuals with disabilities and others facing mobility challenges.

Dedicated helplines for election-related inquiries and incident reporting will be publicized ahead of Election Day.

The Police urged citizens to report suspicious activities that could compromise the election’s integrity.

They also reiterated their commitment to a safe and democratic electoral environment, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder cooperation for a fair and peaceful election.
