In Rivers State, one Monday Reuben, who is accused of wizardry, has been stabbed by his neighbour.
The 65 years old victim was stabbed on Wednesday by the suspect simply identified as Nnanna.
The incident happened at 37 Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the oil-rich State.
The suspect was said to have viciously attacked the victim on the neck and head after accusing him of being behind the calamities and misfortunes that have befallen.
Nnana fled after allegedly committing the crime and is nowhere to be found.
Reuben disclosed that the suspect had picked up a bottle, broke it and stabbed him on Tuesday night and later returned on Wednesday to stab him on the head.
He said: “I am the caretaker of 37, Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu. Nnanna stabbed me. We were packing sand and I called him to shift one side that we want to pack sand. He picked offence and said why did I call him, that ‘don’t I know I am a witch? And that he was bearing gudge against me and that he will kill me and run away.
“He went and carried bottle and broke it, he came and stabbed me. He stabbed me on the neck Tuesday night. This earlier morning, he barged into my house and stabbed me on the head.
“I am 65years old. I want the Police and security to arrest him and ask him what I did. I have reported to Azikiwe Police Division.”
At press time, Spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has not responded to the development, but the victim, said he had reported to the Azikiwe Police Division, where he was issued a doctor’s report.
