The Kano police command has announced that 82 suspects have been apprehended for “series of crimes” within the first fortnight of November in the state.

During a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano, Kiyawa attributed the arrests to a carefully crafted strategy employed by the command.

“Other successes include dismantling armed robbery syndicates along Jigawa-Kano and Bauchi-Kano borders and foiling kidnapping incidents along Kaduna-Kano and Katsina-Kano borders.
“These operations resulted in the capture of 82 suspects and the recovery of firearms, hazardous materials, illicit substances, and stolen goods.”
Recovered items include one AK-47 rifle, three locally fabricated guns, 13 machetes, and 16 knives.
Other items are three motorcycles, one tricycle, 50 packets of diazepam, 42 packets of tramadol, 24 parcels, 175 bundles of dried leaves suspected to be hemp, and 10 mobile phones.”
