- National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, did the handover
The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on Saturday, handed over 58 kidnapped victims to the Kaduna State Government, following their rescue in a joint security operation.
The victims were transferred to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, who confirmed that no ransom was paid for their release.
Musa attributed the success to collaboration across all levels of government, including the presidency, Ministry of Defence, security agencies, and the Kaduna State Government.
He emphasized the importance of a whole-of-society approach to security and warned against attempts to undermine the government’s efforts.
The Defence Chief also clarified that some bandits had been conscripted, and vowed continued military action against perpetrators, assuring Nigerians that the security forces were committed to ensuring safety and justice.
