PDP’s Agboola Ajayi wins polling unit in Ondo governorship election

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) trailed with 1 vote, while 6 votes were deemed void.

Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ondo state, has emerged victorious in his polling unit.

Results from polling unit 04 in Apoi Ward 2, Kiribo, Ese-Odo LGA, indicate Ajayi secured 194 votes, far surpassing Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s 3 votes.

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) trailed behind with a single vote, while six votes were invalidated. Ajayi’s win in Apoi Ward 2 demonstrates the PDP’s strong presence in the region.

Ajayi had earlier expressed discontent with the electoral process, stating that the system had been “compromised”.

He criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for failing to conduct a “proper election” within a single state. Ajayi, the former deputy governor, lamented the election process’s shortcomings, suggesting they erode the election’s credibility.
