Ondo Victory: APC Targets Oyo and Osun States – Ganduje

APC Sets Sights on South West Dominance After Ondo Victory

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that the party is strategizing to take over Oyo and Osun states following its victory in the just-concluded Ondo governorship election.

In an interview with journalists after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa the winner, Ganduje expressed his satisfaction with the election process, which he described as free, fair, and credible.

He extended gratitude to INEC, security agencies, the media, and Civil Society Organisations for ensuring the success of the election.

“This is democracy in action,” Ganduje said. “All stakeholders agree the election was free, fair, and credible. The people of Ondo have shown their love for the APC through their votes. With this victory, there will be continuity in governance, no abandoned projects, and sustained development.”

He congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating an environment conducive to the party’s success.

Ganduje emphasized that the APC’s next goal is to capture Oyo and Osun states as part of its larger strategy to solidify its dominance in the South West geopolitical zone ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Our next target in the South West is Oyo and Osun states. We are focused on bringing them into the APC fold to increase our political opportunities and strengthen support for President Tinubu,” Ganduje stated.

During a stakeholders’ meeting in Ondo last month, Ganduje stressed the importance of uniting the entire South West under the APC to ensure comprehensive support for the president.

“Ondo must lead the charge as we aim for a 100% APC victory in this geopolitical zone. Oyo and Osun will follow, and we are actively strategizing to achieve this goal,” he concluded.
