- The operation, part of the NAF’s logistics strangulation strategy, aims to weaken terrorist networks and restore peace to the region
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that airstrikes by Operation Fansan Yamma have killed several terrorists and destroyed an arms depot and the residence of Mallam Saleh, a notorious kingpin linked to Dogo Gide, in Niger State.
According to NAF spokesperson Olusola Akinboyewa, the operation targeted Palele in Shiroro Local Government Area, where Saleh’s activities had terrorised communities through attacks, abductions, and extortion.
“Saleh’s reign of terror had plagued vulnerable communities in Shiroro. However, precise airstrikes on November 16, 2024, neutralised numerous terrorists and obliterated a weapons cache, confirmed by secondary explosions,” Akinboyewa said.
The operation, part of the NAF’s logistics strangulation strategy, aims to weaken terrorist networks and restore peace to the region. NAF, in collaboration with surface forces, will continue targeted patrols and interdictions to degrade terrorist operations and safeguard civilians.
