- The CBN urged Nigerians to remain vigilant
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has cautioned Nigerians about fraudsters falsely claiming to hold contract award letters for construction projects and financial interventions on behalf of the Bank.
In a statement, the apex bank dismissed such claims as fraudulent, stating they aim to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
“The Bank reiterates that it has ceased direct development interventions and special project funding under its current management,” the statement read. “No public notices for such interventions have been authorised on social media or other platforms.”
The CBN urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring monetary stability and a sound financial system.
