Gov Dapo Abiodun swears in 20 newly elected LG chairs in Ogun

Recall that APC won all the chairmanship seats in all the 20 LGAS in the state

Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State governor, has inaugurated 20 newly elected LGA chairpersons.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) won all 20 chairmanship and 236 councillorship seats in the council poll on Saturday.

During the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, Abiodun urged the new council chairmen to promote transparency and equitable distribution of democratic benefits.

He advised the LG chairpersons to “innovate revenue generation without overburdening residents” of the state.

Abiodun’s administration will prioritize effective governance and provide maximum support for local government development.

“Your emergence at the polls signifies the continued support people have given to our administration. We have performed well in the last five years,” he said.

He added, “This success is timely and a way of demonstrating the good work of President Bola Tinubu.

Abiodun emphasized the importance of collaboration between the state government, stakeholders, and council leaders.

He also advised them to “Embrace innovations in generating revenue without overburdening the residents you serve.”

Additionally, Abiodun tasked the council leaders with effectively implementing state policies across various local government constituencies.
