- According to Izunaso, Ubah followed through on his promise and played a significant role in strengthening the APC in Anambra State
Imo West Senator Osita Izunaso has disclosed details of a meeting in London where the late Anambra South Senator Ifeanyi Ubah committed to joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during a Senate valedictory session held on Tuesday in honour of Ubah, Izunaso said the London meeting, attended by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, sealed Ubah’s defection from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the APC.
Recalling the event, Izunaso said Akpabio had asked Ubah if he was certain about joining the APC despite ongoing court battles. “Ifeanyi Ubah said, ‘Yes, I’ll join APC.’ The deal was sealed, and the Senate President promised to inform the Commander-in-Chief upon his return to Nigeria,” Izunaso recounted.
According to Izunaso, Ubah followed through on his promise and played a significant role in strengthening the APC in Anambra State. “That is the man Ifeanyi Ubah,” he added, praising the late senator’s contributions to the party.
The session celebrated Ubah’s political legacy and impact, particularly his efforts in transforming the APC in the southeast.
