The Emir of Karaye in Kano State, Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz, has called on newly appointed district heads to actively support security agencies in protecting lives and property in the emirate and beyond.
He issued this directive during the turbaning ceremony held at his palace. Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Hadi Zarewa was installed as Dokajin Karaye, while Assistant Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Alhaji Ahmed Garba Karaye, was named Tafidan Karaye.
Emphasizing the role of the traditional institution in safeguarding lives, the emir urged the new appointees to remain committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of the people.
“You were chosen for these roles due to your significant contributions to the progress of Karaye Emirate. I trust you will continue to serve diligently, securing the emirate from any threats. As traditional rulers, our primary responsibility is the welfare of our people, and we must complement the government’s efforts in this regard,” the emir stated.
He acknowledged the approval of their appointments by the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, citing their track records of service and dedication in various fields.
The emir reaffirmed the importance of the traditional institution in fostering security and development, urging the newly installed district heads to uphold their duties with excellence.
