‘Tinubu stabbed supporters with ridiculous appointments’ — APC chieftain faults Daniel Bwala’s pick

...says he once called Tinubu a drug dealer

Jesutega Onokpasa, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has criticized Daniel Bwala’s appointment as special adviser on policy communication to President Bola Tinubu.

Onokpasa’s criticism comes after Tinubu recently appointed Bwala to his media team, sparking widespread outrage.

During the 2023 presidential election, Bwala, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign spokesperson, called for Tinubu’s arrest and prosecution over alleged corruption.

Bwala had accused Tinubu of forfeiting drug proceeds in the US and other corruption allegations.

He also emphasized that Tinubu was not immune to prosecution, urging the EFCC, NDLEA, police, attorney-general, and DSS to take action.

Speaking on Arise TV’s ‘News Night,’ Onokpasa condemned the president’s decision to appoint Bwala, given his past accusations against Tinubu, including labeling him a “drug dealer.”

The APC chieftain also accused Tinubu of betraying his loyal supporters with “ridiculous” appointments.

Onokpasa disagreed with those who saw Bwala’s appointment as a strategic move, calling it “stupidity” instead.

“Our dear and beloved President stabbed all of us, his staunch supporters, in the back with this absolutely ridiculous, meaningless and just inexplicable appointment,” Onokpasa said.

“I am a Tinubu supporter, not a sycophant; his apologists call this appointment a strategy, but I think it’s stupidity. How can you appoint someone who called you a drug dealer?” Onokpasa questioned.

The APC chieftain expressed disappointment that the president took his supporters for granted despite their loyalty during Bwala’s attacks.

“Not all his supporters want an appointment; it’s just the insult that our president seems to take us for granted,” Onokpasa said.

“Some of us genuinely love him, and that’s why it hurts. My president just acted like he can stab anyone in the back, humiliate us, and I don’t trust him anymore.”
