The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed seasoned broadcaster Sulaiman Aledeh as Managing Director of Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).
In a statement released on Saturday, Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, announced that Aledeh’s appointment takes immediate effect.
According to Itua, Aledeh is a renowned international journalist and strategic media consultant with over 20 years of experience in broadcast journalism.
Itua also revealed that Aledeh graduated with a degree in Philosophy from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) and began his media career at EBS while still a student in 1999.
“He has made significant contributions to prestigious international news channels including Al Jazeera, SABC, and GB News UK,” the statement reads.
“Currently, he anchors various news programs at Arise News and shares his insights on Classic FM.”
Aledeh later worked at Ebonyi Radio during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, becoming the first corps member to read the station’s major news bulletin.
He established himself as a prominent voice at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, creating and presenting influential shows.
Aledeh’s transition to national television began with a prominent African media company, where he anchored flagship news programs on TVC and Channels Television.
His tenure at Channels TV further solidified his expertise in producing compelling television content and covering significant events.
As Assistant General Manager and Head of Media and Communications at Eko DISCO, Aledeh demonstrated strong leadership in strategic communication.
Aledeh is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management and an Associate of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.
“Sulaiman holds a Master’s Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Lagos and has served as a Special Correspondent and News Anchor at Arise News in London and Lagos.”
