Celta Vigo Stages Dramatic Comeback to Hold 10-Man Barcelona

Barcelona Stunned by Celta Vigo's Late Comeback in 2-2 Draw

Celta Vigo vs Barcelona

Celta Vigo stunned Barcelona with a late fightback to secure a 2-2 draw in their La Liga encounter on Saturday. The Catalans let slip a two-goal advantage, conceding twice in just three minutes.

The match turned on its head after Barcelona’s Marc Casadó received a red card in the 82nd minute. Reduced to 10 men, Barcelona struggled as Celta capitalized on their numerical edge.

Alfon González reduced the deficit in the 84th minute, and just two minutes later, Hugo Álvarez struck the equalizer, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

Earlier, Raphinha had given Barcelona the lead in the 15th minute. Robert Lewandowski doubled the advantage around the hour mark, putting the visitors in control. But the late-game drama dashed Barcelona’s hopes of taking all three points.

This result marked Barcelona’s first draw of the season, though they remain five points ahead of Atletico Madrid in second place.

Real Madrid, currently third, has two games in hand. If Madrid wins both, they will close the gap to just one point, intensifying the race for the title.
