Gov Otti holds emergency security meeting over killings in Abia

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has assured stakeholders that his administration will do everything to end the wanton killings and nefarious activities of criminal elements in the state.

He gave the assurance while addressing the press after an emergency security council meeting in response to the recent attacks on security personnel in the State.

Otti state that he the security architecture of the State would undergo a shake-up aimed at smoking out criminals and ending their attacks in the State.

He announced that the State would no longer be safe for kidnappers or other forms of bandits.

“We have also agreed to redouble our efforts in various areas where there are possibilities of attacks”, Otti said.

The Governor stated that the residents and visitors to the State had nothing to fear as his administration was more than capable to tackle the security challenges head-on.

He commiserated with the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police on the unfortunate incidents and attack on their men at Ekenobizi, Ubakala and Ohafia and assured that such would not repeat itself.

He added that he would visit the families of the deceased.

The security meeting was attended by Service Commanders in Abia State, including those of the Nigeria Army, Navy, Police, DSS, NSCDC, Nigeria Correctional Services, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Chairman of Abia State Council of traditional rulers, among others.
