A devastating accident occurred in the Mile 2 area of Lagos state when a 40-feet container-laden truck fell on a car.
According to a statement released by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Monday, the car driver was rescued alive.
The LASTMA spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, revealed that the driver received immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital.
“Following the rescue, the Toyota Camry was successfully removed from beneath the container,” the statement reads.
Efforts to remove the fallen container are ongoing, while LASTMA officers manage the scene to alleviate traffic congestion.
LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, emphasized the importance of securing containers properly to prevent accidents.
He stressed that negligence in this regard poses a significant threat to lives and property, urging strict adherence to road safety protocols.
