Ohanaeze Youths Demand Leadership Rotation, Inclusivity

The group declared it is Rivers State’s turn to produce the next leader, after Imo State

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing has called for strict adherence to the rotational arrangement for electing the President General of the parent body, as mandated by its constitution.

Following their 57th NEC meeting in Enugu, the group declared it is Rivers State’s turn to produce the next leader, after Imo State. In a statement signed by National President Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, they urged Ime Obi, the apex decision-making body, to uphold this arrangement, warning against any attempts to subvert the process.

The youth wing thanked President Bola Tinubu and South-East governors for honouring the late President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, but raised concerns over alleged financial mismanagement in the organization, calling for an EFCC investigation.

They also criticised rising living costs, questioned claims of full operations at the Port Harcourt refinery, and decried the exclusion of Igbo youths from key federal initiatives. They called for inclusivity to promote unity and fairness.
