Some of the rampaging bandits terrorising the beleaguered Southern Kaduna in Kaduna State have met their waterloo in the hands of the Nigerian Army.
The bandits met their end as they were neutralised by troops from 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven during an operation in the enclave.
The Nigerian Army announced the development in a post on its official X handle on Thursday.
According to the military, 25 kidnap victims were also rescued during the operation on Wednesday.
The military also disclosed that several hard drugs, including tramadol, energy drinks, and clothing materials, were recovered during the offensive.
“The operation, code-named Operation GOLDEN PEACE, was conducted to ensure a secure harvest season and peaceful yuletide celebrations in the Joint Operations Area.
“Troops carried out intelligence-based offensive operations at several locations, including Ruwan Sanye, Randa, Rafin Gora, Libere Gari, and Libere Makaranta in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna Additionally, troops discovered an illegal clinic where the bandits treated their injured cohorts.
“The area has been cleared, and further operations are ongoing to intercept the remaining fleeing bandits.
“3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property within the Joint Operations Area.
“The public is urged to continue supporting security agencies with timely intelligence to rid the area of criminal elements.”
