Zamfara explosion: NGF condemns terror attack, mourn victims

Recall that on Wednesday, an explosion on the Gusau-Dansadau bridge killed eight people and destroyed a Golf car en route to Gusau

The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) has condemned the Zamfara state bridge bombing as a “cowardly attempt to inflict collateral harm on innocent residents.”

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, NGF chairman, expressed sadness over the passengers’ death in a statement on Thursday.

AbdulRazaq commiserated with Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal and the families of the deceased.

He urged the Nigerian army and security agencies to restore peace and ensure safety nationwide.

“The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) sends its heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Zamfara State on the unfortunate road explosion in which six persons reportedly died.”

“The Forum says the incident was a cowardly attempt to inflict collateral harm on the people.”

“We condemn the development entirely and wholeheartedly support the Nigerian military’s efforts to eliminate these violent elements,” the Forum stated.

“As security agencies tackle these elements, we urge improved vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities to the authorities for the greater good.”
