President Bola Tinubu has mourned the passing of Muyideen Bello, a distinguished Islamic scholar and preacher.

The renowned cleric Muyideen Bello from Oyo state passed away on Friday at 84.

Tinubu, via his spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, described Bello as a cerebral scholar, noting his passing is a loss to the Muslim community.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shares in the pain of loss with the Muslim Ummah over the passing at the age of 84, the highly revered Islamic Scholar Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello,” the statement reads.

Tinubu acknowledged Bello’s selfless life, serving Allah and humanity with profound Quranic insights, wisdom, and interpretive gifts.

The President noted Bello’s early discovery of divine purpose, coupled with dedication to prayers and studies, shaped his message and many Muslims’ destinies.

Tinubu recognized Bello’s steadfast stance on charity, peace, and order, frequently advising leaders on trust, honesty, and fairness in governance.

Tinubu condoled with Bello’s family, urging them to find solace in his exceptional legacy.
