The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has pledged the federal government’s commitment to renovating and optimising its assets nationwide while enforcing strict adherence to land administration laws.
Speaking during a Stakeholder-Citizens Engagement on Land Administration in Lagos, Dangiwa highlighted the ministry’s dedication to restoring order in federal land and asset management under the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He expressed concern over the poor state of federal assets and uncompleted housing projects during a three-day tour of facilities in Lagos. “We aim to expedite the renovation and completion of these projects to provide value and increase affordable housing for Nigerians,” he said.
The minister also revealed plans to upgrade the ministry’s field offices into modern workspaces to improve staff productivity.
Addressing unauthorized developments along the Lagos shoreline, Dangiwa warned that developers who flout legal requirements would face strict consequences, emphasising the government’s control over shoreline titles.
