Former Kogi deputy speaker Enema Paul is dead

He gave up the ghost over an unnamed illness


The immediate past Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Enema Paul, has passed away.

He succumbed to an undisclosed illness at a private hospital in Abuja in the early hours of Saturday.

Prior to his demise, Hon Paul represented Okura State Constituency in the current 8th Assembly in Kogi State.

Hon Paul had stepped down as Deputy Speaker due to health issues and was replaced by Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola from Ibaji State Constituency.

Meanwhile, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, has condoled with the family of the late Rt. Hon. Enema Paul.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Yabagi Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, and made available to journalists in Lokoja.

Rt Hon Umar described the deceased as a friend, temperate, humble, team-playing, committed lawmaker, and public servant.

According to Rt Hon Umar, the former Deputy Speaker exemplified commitment to state unity and promoted pro-people legislation for overall development.

He noted that the late Enema Paul was a devoted Christian who valued family and had impeccable godliness.

The Speaker prayed for God to grant the family and Assembly members the strength to bear the loss.
