Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has announced the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development, with immediate effect.
The governor directed the Secretary to the State Government and the Commissioner for Agriculture to take necessary steps to define the ministry’s mandate, secure office space, and facilitate staffing to ensure its smooth commencement of operations.
Governor Buni explained that the creation of the ministry aligns with the state’s efforts to unlock its economic potential by advancing livestock production.
The initiative aims to position Yobe as a prominent hub for livestock development in northern Nigeria.
In the last six years, Governor Buni’s administration has established three new ministries and 13 agencies to enhance service delivery and foster growth across various sectors in the state.
