UK-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, has declared that he will have a greater influence in Nigeria than in the United Kingdom.
Adegboyega, the founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), made this statement during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
His comments followed reports of his deportation from the UK after the immigration upper tribunal upheld a ruling against him over alleged illegal residency and £1.87 million fraud claims.
However, Adegboyega dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating that the issue had already been settled. He clarified that he was never involved in wrongdoing and dispelled rumours about his activities.
“I have never been seen in a nightclub,” he said. “I’ve only been to restaurants with friends.”
The pastor emphasized his commitment to Nigeria, expressing optimism about his future in the country.
“There is no time I won’t come back to Nigeria. I don’t know why some people are making this an issue. Nigeria is my country, and I will be bigger here than anywhere else,” Adegboyega said.
He highlighted his mission to contribute to nation-building, stating that his church, SPAC Nation, is focused on transforming lives and empowering people.
“We are working to get what rightfully belongs to us. Thousands of people will be willing to return to Nigeria to help build the nation,” he added.
Adegboyega also criticized UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch’s remarks about Nigeria. He argued that while Nigeria has its challenges, the UK is not without problems.
“In 2023/2024, 78,000 phones were snatched in the UK. A strong black community exists here, and many have fought for progress,” he explained.
He further noted the troubling statistics about young black people in the UK, claiming that prisons house more young black individuals than schools.
“What SPAC Nation does is to change the tides. We send people to institutions like Cambridge and Harvard to provide better opportunities.”
Adegboyega’s comments reflect his intention to shift focus to Nigeria and contribute meaningfully to its growth while addressing societal challenges.
