  • Osagie noted that Okpebholo’s incompetence is a perfect illustration of the timeless maxim, “no one can give what they do not have.

Crusoe Osagie, Godwin Obaseki’s media adviser, has slammed Monday Okpebholo, Edo’s governor, for allegedly mismanaging Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).

In a statement, Osagie criticized Okpebholo’s administration for its handling of the state’s media assets, citing incompetence and poor management.

Osagie stated that Okpebholo’s ineptitude and outdated methods have eroded the progress made by Obaseki in upgrading EBS, connecting it to the 95MW Ossiomo power plant.

He explained that this upgrade ensured a reliable power supply, backed by standby generators for routine maintenance or technical issues.

Osagie added that Okpebholo has introduced two additional generators, despite the existing reliable power supply, showcasing his deceptive “the more you look, the less you see” tactics.

“The current retrogression in Edo State, fueled by Okpebholo’s cluelessness, has engulfed EBS, which Obaseki recently revived,” Osagie said.

Osagie questioned the need for additional generators, given the existing power supply, and wondered if Okpebholo planned to rely solely on diesel, considering the cost implications.

He also asked how Okpebholo intended to sustain the costly operation, replace the generators, and whether this was not a wasteful use of state resources.

Osagie noted that Obaseki had transformed EBS, making it self-sufficient and generating revenue for the state government, citing verifiable facts.

He asked if Okpebholo had maintained EBS’s self-sufficiency, sustained its growth momentum, or reversed its progress with his primitive management methods.

Osagie observed that Okpebholo’s incompetence illustrates the maxim, “no one can give what they do not have.”

The ex-aide alleged that Okpebholo’s mismanagement is undermining Obaseki’s reforms.

Osagie urged Okpebholo to focus on developing his leadership skills instead of resorting to “shameful press conferences to hide his incompetence.”
