Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has pledged to enhance the fight against corruption through new initiatives aimed at empowering the state’s Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).
Speaking at an international symposium marking Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Day, the governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to transparency.
He assured attendees that he has never interfered with the commission’s operations, allowing it to fulfill its mandate independently.
The symposium, organized by the PCACC, carried the theme “Uniting the Youths in Fighting Corruption and Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity.” It highlighted the importance of engaging young people in the fight against corruption.
Governor Yusuf noted that he retained the PCACC Chairman, Muhyi Magaji Rimingado, from the previous administration to maintain continuity.
He expressed confidence in Rimingado’s capabilities, describing him as one of the country’s finest anti-corruption officers.
“I am proud to say that my government has never interfered in any corruption investigations. Both the ICPC and EFCC can attest to this,” the governor stated.
