JUST-IN: Ex-Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, granted N500m bail in alleged N110bn fraud case

  • The trial judge held that the defendant must produce three sureties in like sum who must be responsible citizens of Nigeria.

A federal capital territory high court has granted Yahaya Bello, former Kogi governor, N500 million bail.

Bello faces charges for alleged criminal breach of trust, totaling N110 billion, contrary to the Penal Code Law.

The trial judge, Maryann Anenih, ruled that Bello must provide three sureties, each responsible for N500 million.

These sureties must own properties in designated FCT areas and submit passport photos and identification.
