Paul Pogba’s brother, Mathias, has been sentenced to three-year prison sentence for his involvement in a plot to blackmail and extort the former Manchester United star.
He was convicted and sentenced by a court in Paris on Thursday.
Mathias was arrested and charged in late 2022 in connection with an £11 million extortion plot against his brother.
During his trial on Thursday, he was sentenced to three years in prison, with two years suspended.
However, the 34-year-old will serve the remaining year under electronic monitoring rather than in prison.
Paul Pogba, 31, told police that a group of childhood friends, including Mathias, had demanded money for “protection services” dating back 13 years.
Pogba also revealed that the extortion plot had such an impact on him that he considered retiring from football in 2023
