The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano State Command has launched its End-of-Year 2024/New Year 2025 Special Patrol Operation to ensure road safety during the festive season.
The campaign, themed “Speak Up Against Dangerous Driving: Crashes Kill More Passengers Than Drivers; Drive Responsibly and Avoid Overloading,” runs from December 15, 2024, to January 15, 2025.
Sector Commander CC Umar Masa’udu Matazu announced the deployment of 1,539 personnel, including 1,303 Regular Marshals and 236 Special Marshals, supported by 25 patrol vehicles, five ambulances, and a tow truck. Officers will be stationed across highways and critical locations in Kano’s 44 local government areas.
Targeted offences include overloading, speeding, driving under the influence, and using phones while driving. Motorists are urged to avoid night travel and report emergencies via the toll-free number 122.
