NAFDAC also confirmed that the warehouse management has been summoned for questioning

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated unregistered food products valued at N3.8 billion from a warehouse in Lagos State.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, NAFDAC revealed that its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate conducted a raid at Apongbon Oke Arin Market after receiving a tip-off about the sale of unregistered food items.

“Various unregistered items valued at N3,818,802,720 were seized during the operation, and the facility has been placed on hold pending further investigation,” the agency said.

NAFDAC also confirmed that the warehouse management has been summoned for questioning, with investigations into the operation ongoing. The agency assured that “appropriate sanctions will follow after investigations.”

The public has been urged to remain vigilant, particularly during the festive season, and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest NAFDAC office.

This latest operation highlights NAFDAC’s commitment to safeguarding public health by tackling the circulation of unregulated food products.
