A tragic accident in Plateau State on Monday evening claimed the lives of three people and left four others injured when a tanker collided with a tricycle.
The incident occurred near the University of Jos Student Village Hostel along Farin Gada Road in Jos North Local Government Area.
Peter Yakubu, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Plateau, and Nura Ussaini Magaji, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, confirmed the accident to reporters on Tuesday.
Yakubu stated, “The crash happened on December 23 and involved a tanker and a tricycle. Three people died, and four others sustained varying degrees of injuries.”
He further revealed that some of the victims’ bodies were mutilated beyond recognition, highlighting the severity of the crash.
Emergency responders, including the FRSC and the Red Cross, were present to manage the situation and assist the injured.
