The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, has called on troops to remain steadfast and prepared as the battle against terrorism and other criminal activities continues across the nation.
During a Christmas luncheon organized by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, Abubakar emphasized that the fight was far from over.
He commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for protecting the nation’s airspace, defending societal values, and supporting ground forces and security agencies.
“Our collective efforts have disrupted insurgents, reduced their ability to cause harm, and created an opportunity for peace to return to this region,” Abubakar noted.
He highlighted the importance of strategic planning, community engagement, and unwavering resolve in tackling the nation’s security challenges.
However, he warned against complacency, urging troops to remain alert and ready for the road ahead.
“The current security challenges require modern and adaptable platforms. Despite our progress, we must stay vigilant and united as we enter the new year,” he added.
Earlier, Air Vice Marshal E.O.E. Ebiowe, Air Officer Tactical Air Command, praised the swift response and effective airstrikes by the Air Component during recent terrorist attacks in Kareto, Kukawa, and other critical locations.
He described the operations as a testament to the NAF’s dedication to ending terrorism in Nigeria.
