Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan met with former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, on Thursday.
Lawan, who represents Yobe North in the 10th Senate, arrived at Buhari’s residence around 12:40 pm and was warmly welcomed by the former president.
The visit was confirmed in a statement by Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo, Media Adviser to the former Senate President.
According to the statement, the meeting covered various topics, though it did not confirm whether discussions about the 2027 political landscape were part of the agenda.
This visit follows a recent closed-door meeting in Minna, Niger State, where former President Olusegun Obasanjo met with ex-Military President Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, and ex-National Security Adviser Aliyu Gusau.
During the meeting in Daura, Lawan commended Buhari for his leadership from 2015 to 2023, highlighting his commitment to Nigeria’s development.
He also expressed gratitude for Buhari’s hospitality and role as a source of wisdom and guidance.
In response, Buhari thanked Lawan for the visit and acknowledged his continued support.
