Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have arrested 20 suspects over the recent killings in Tingbwa Gidan Ado community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Maj. Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, OPSH Commander and General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, disclosed this during a Christmas luncheon held in Jos on Thursday.
Gunmen attacked the community on December 22, killing 15 people and injuring several others.
Abubakar revealed that after sustained night operations, troops captured the suspects and seized a large cache of arms and ammunition.
He said, “We apprehended 20 individuals connected to the December 22 attack in Tingbwa Gidan Ado village. The recovery of weapons has significantly disrupted the activities of criminal elements.”
The commander called on troops to let the spirit of Christmas inspire greater dedication to duty.
“Christmas reminds us of the values we hold dear. Let it fuel our passion to serve with determination,” he added.
Abubakar praised the troops for their sacrifices in ensuring peace in Plateau State.
“Today, I commend your efforts and recognize the sacrifices you make, especially being away from loved ones during this festive season,” he said.
