Governor Hyacinth Alia has pledged that those responsible for the violent attacks on the Anwase community in Kwande Local Government Area, Benue State, will face severe consequences.
The brutal assaults resulted in the tragic loss of 11 innocent lives.
Speaking on Friday through his media aide, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia strongly condemned the unprovoked violence. He assured the public that justice would be served for the victims and their families.
Alia highlighted the gravity of the attacks on unarmed citizens, expressing deep concern over the recurring violence despite his administration’s efforts to ensure the safety of the populace.
He emphasized the need for enhanced security measures to protect vulnerable communities from future threats.
“I can assure you, the perpetrators of this act will pay dearly for it. They may think they are not known, but they cannot be allowed to continue perpetrating this. It’s a matter of time,” Alia stated firmly.
The governor called for security forces to bolster surveillance and take proactive steps to prevent such tragedies.
He stressed the importance of accountability and the rule of law in maintaining peace and stability within the state.
