- The plan focuses on infrastructure development
Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law, unveiling a N526 billion budget with 66% allocated to capital expenditure.
Dubbed the “Budget of Transformation and Infrastructural Sustainability,” the plan focuses on infrastructure development and aligns with the governor’s 9-point innovative smart agenda, which has already delivered improvements in water supply, education, youth empowerment, and urban renewal.
Governor Aliyu highlighted his administration’s achievements, rating the 2024 budget implementation at 90%, credited to collaborations with development partners, NGOs, and civil society organisations.
The Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, praised the rigorous legislative process behind the budget and pledged effective oversight to ensure it meets the needs of the people.
