Troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, Operation Hadarin Daji, have arrested a 25-year-old suspected female ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, and her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
According to a statement released by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, the suspects were apprehended on December 28 following an intelligence report about the movement of terrorist logistics in the region.
Ahadu was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines allegedly meant for delivery to the camp of notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji.
The statement highlighted that the arrest was made possible through a roadblock established by troops in response to the intelligence report. The suspects are currently undergoing investigation.
Reaffirming their commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the illegal movement of arms, the task force urged the public to continue providing credible information to aid in the fight against terrorism.
The statement also expressed appreciation for the ongoing local support from residents, which has been instrumental in the operation’s successes.
